Sandra Herden

June 3, 1941 — November 10, 2021

Sandra Ann Herden passed away on Wednesday, November 10 after a two year bout with colon and esophageal cancers. Born June 3, 1941 to Stanley and Helen (Wagner) Stevens, Sandra grew up in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Rufus King High School. She began her career as a waitress and secretary while raising four daughters Michelle Henne (Tom); Pamela Shultis; Renee Lynch; Nicole Herden Reagan (John); and a son LTC (R) Ronald Shultis Jr (Debbie). Always personable and caring, Sandra was a customer favorite at Manning's Restaurant before retiring to Apache Junction, AZ. She finished her career there as a CNA, caring for people in the same loving manner that so many have cared for her recently. After the death of her devoted husband of 19 years, James Herden, Sandra joined Nicole and John in Boise, ID before moving together to Kearney, NE. She LOVED her TV game shows, possessed a voracious appetite for fiction, and adored all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the hippest, cool cat we knew. There wasn't anything a glass of Blue Nun, a piece of chocolate, or a cigarette couldn't remedy. We will always remember our family visits for her favorite holiday, Christmas, and the many good talks while sitting around the back patio or dinner table. Our family would like to deeply thank all the kind medical personnel who cared for Sandie. Angels among us deliver us to the angels above.

Cremation services were arranged by Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska.
