Ina Griffing

Ina Mae Griffing, Franklin, Nebraska, was born July 12, 1918, in Hebron, NE to Pearl Brown Webber and Frank Webber. She died Friday, November 23, 2018, at Franklin Care and Rehabilitation Center, Franklin, Nebraska, at the age of 100 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

In 1923, at the five Ina, her parents and her two older brothers, Glenn and Alvin “Ace” Webber moved to a farm in Smith County, KS. Ina went to school in Franklin and later married her longtime soulmate and husband, LaRue “Bud” Griffing. They were married on September 15, 1937. Together they moved to their own farm. They had a daughter Deena on September 28, 1942.

When Frank and Pearl retired from farming, Bud and Ina moved back to the original home place, where they lived and farmed for many years.

Ina Mae loved the solitude and peacefulness of farm life. She loved working in her yard and enjoying her flowers. In her earlier years, she enjoyed raising calves. She missed it very much when she and Bud retired in Franklin.

Her family was important to her and will be missed very much.

Ima is survived by her Granddaughter, DeAnn Remaly and Great Grandchildren, Malorie and Morghen, Great Great Grandchildren, Kikyo, Kiba, Ace, and Allura.

Ima was preceded in death by her Husband, LaRue Griffing, Son, Gerald Griffing, Daughter, Denna Remaly, Brothers, Alvin and Glenn Webber and Son-In-Law, Weldon Remaly.

Graveside services were Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska, with Pastor Phil Sloat officiating. Interment followed the service in the cemetery. Visitation for Ina Mae was Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials can be left for Ida Mae Griffing memory in care of the funeral home to the donor’s choice.
