Christian Biography of Wayne L. MaskaWayne Maska, the son of August and Anna (Saathoff) Maska, was born on March 14, 1924, on a farm near Macon, Nebraska. He passed away on August 4, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Franklin at the age of 87 years, 4 months, 21 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Walter Maska and sister, Irene Saunders.

Wayne was baptized into the Christian faith as an infant and joined the United Methodist Church as an adult. Wayne was united in marriage to Evelyn Ramsay, March 31, 1946, at the Franklin United Methodist Church. To this union two daughters were born.

When Wayne wasn't busy farming, he enjoyed playing pool and cards and watching horse races. He loved gospel music and watching all kinds of sports, especially Husker football.

Wayne is survived by his wife - Evelyn; two daughters - Vickie (Bob) Hoeft of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Connie (Stuart) Yoder; four grandchildren - Chadd (Suzi) Hoeft, Anne Hoeft, Loren Yoder and Lee Yoder; two great-grandchildren; Drew Hoeft and Campbell Hoeft all of Omaha, Nebraska; along with a host of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2011, at Hutchins Funeral Home in Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, Franklin with Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating.

Interment will be in the Franklin Greenwood Cemetery.
