Richard Lee Hauver was born on December 29, 1971 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital to Robert B. and Linda (Schriner) Hauver. He was the third of four children. The family lived in Perth, Nebraska for a number of years until they moved to Naponee, Nebraska. Richard, from an early age, loved the outdoors. He spent many, many hours hunting and fishing with his dad and family. He also loved to spend weeks camping with his family at Harlan County Lake each summer while he was growing up.
Richard attended Naponne school through the sixth grade and then transferred to Franklin public schools graduating with the Class of 1990. After high school, he worked for various farmers in the area.
In 1992 he met and married Lisa Ohlman and to this union were added Robert Lee in December 1992 and Ashlee Jae in September 2000. They made their home in Alma, Nebraska where Richard worked first for Coast to Coast Hardware and then Zeller Zulaf Funrniture Store. Richard and Lisa divorced, and he moved to the family farm east of Orleans, Nebraska with his parents.
In 2015, he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Susan Adam. He moved to Frankin, and they were married later that year. Richard began working for CPI first in Minden, then transferring to the Franklin location.
In 2018, Richard lost his left leg below the knee due to an infection complicated by his diabetes. He did not let this slow him down. He continued to do what he loved, which was to hunt and fish. He also helped Craig and Cody Robinett with harvest and did the grounds keeping for the Franklin Co, Ag. Society. The last few years health issues have slowed him down, but he never lost the love of being with family, friends, and being Papa to Robert’s son, Magnus.
Richard passed from this life Sunday morning, October 26, 2025 at the age of fifty-three. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert B. and Linda Hauver; sister Glenda Sue Manser; nephew Austin Rupke; grandparents Wilbur and Gerladine Schriner, Dell and Daisy Belle Hauver.
