Marilyn M. Heimsoth

Marilyn May (Jesse) Heimsoth, twin daughter of August and Anna (Adam) Jesse was born on February 24, 1931 near Wilcox, Nebraska.  She was one of seven girls.  She passed away on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at Bryan Health Center at the age of 91.  She was baptized on March 15, 1931 at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church near Wilcox, by Pastor Paul W. Ludwig.  She was confirmed on April 2, 1944 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wilcox by Pastor C.A. Noffke. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 3: verse 11, “HOLD THAT FAST WHICH THOU HAST, THAT NO MAN TAKE THY CROWN”.

 

At the time of her death Marilyn was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Omaha. 

 

Marilyn lived on a farm near Wilcox while growing up. She attended Pleasant View Country Grade School, Wilcox High School, Kearney State College, Electronic TV Institute, University of Omaha and Metropolitan Technical Community College.

 

Marilyn taught in three Rural Country Schools: Lynch School District, Pleasant View and Macon Prairie School District all in Franklin County.  Marilyn also worked for Trans World Airlines in Chicago, IL, 

 

In a double wedding with her twin sister, Mariann, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilcox, Marilyn united in marriage to Gerald Louis Heimsoth.  Her sister, Mariann, was united in marriage to Delbert Westley Davisson on August 16, 1953 by Pastor Reverend Everett L. Wittenberg.  Gerald and Marilyn made their home in Omaha, NE. They had no children.

 

Marilyn worked at General Motors Acceptance Corp., North Side Bank, Snow Company, Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner and Smith Brokerage Company and Mapleview Pharmacy during these years.  She also did some volunteer work.  After her husband, Gerald, died March 1, 1990, she worked part time for a District Representative of the Aid Association for Lutherans. She assisted her mother and father-in-law with their business affairs from 1984 through 1999. She sang in the church choirs for many years. She also enjoyed water skiing, swimming, dancing, walking and working in her home and the yard.

 

Those preceding her death are her parents, her husband, Gerald Heimsoth, her five sisters and their husbands RoJean and Ward Nelson, Mariann and Delbert Davission, Augusta and Dale Johnsen, Barbara and Leon Sanders and Doris Jesse. Also, father and mother-in- law, Walter and Anna Heimsoth, her brother and sister in laws: Louise and Bernard Rischling, Robert Heimsoth and Marvin and Vera Heimsoth and her dearest friend Don Kingsley.

 

Marilyn will be forever remembered by her sister and brother in law, Betty (Jesse) and Ronald D. Hunt, many nieces and nephews; significant friends Rachel Langford, Scott Alexander and Jill Mussel.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, Nebraska with the Reverend David Hutson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin. Viewing and greeting of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska is handling these arrangements.
