Lloyd Davisson

Lloyd Dwight Davisson was born April 17, 1918 in Lawrence Nebraska to Lloyd & Clara Davisson. He died on January 30, 2013.
He was baptized in Hastings Nebraska at church. He went to school in Hastings, moved to Bloomington and attended school there all but his Senior Year and then graduated in Franklin, NE in 1936.
Dwight volunteered in Jan. 1942, (right after Pearl Harbor) for the Army. He served overseas where he landed in Casablanca, Christmas day 1942. He went from Oran North Africa to Naples in Jan 1942 and was discharged in 1945. In May 1945 General Mark Clark pinned the Bronze Star on him for meritorious service. He was in the 88th Infantry Division, the "Blue Devils"
He married Arlene Swank December 18, 1945 at Osborne Kansas. They had 4 kids, Sanna Jo, Allen, Jennifer, and Eunice.

He worked in Franklin State Bank May 1940-Jan. 1979. His hobbies included amateur hot-rodding, music- rock, jazz, blues. He used to work on cars & kept his families cars all in good working order. He enjoyed camping and spending time with grand-kids. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. He also was a member of the V.F.W. and served many treasury jobs, Polio Fund, Salvation Army Church, City Council.

He is proceeded in death by His Wife, Brothers John, Delbert & Sister Olive.
Dwight is survived by, 4 children, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Mariann Davisson
