Letha Marie (Wilson) Sweet passed away October 20, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney, NE at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 11 days. Letha was born on Jan. 9, 1920 in Webster County, NE to Edward and Lucille (Jensen) Wilson. Letha was the oldest child of nine children. She was baptized at an early age. She attended school in Riverton and Bloomington, NE, and Reemer, KS. On November 2, 1937, she married Sam at Smith Center, KS. To this union four children were born, Dorothy, Ann, Samuel LeRoy, and Janice. Letha and Sam celebrated their 50 years together on November 2, 1987. She enjoyed her family, friends, animals, work, and dancing. She will be greatly missed.

Letha is survived by: daughters: Janice Libich & hus Mike, Gothenburg, NE; Dorothy Wescoat & hus Raymond, Red Cloud, NE; Ann Lennemann & hus Jim, Lincoln, NE; son: Samuel LeRoy Sweet & wife Helen, Franklin, NE; Grandchildren: Danny Wescoat & wife Laura, Red Cloud, NE; Travis Libich & wife Kara, Gothenburg, NE; Marshall Libich & wife Susan, Gothenburg, NE; Scott Sweet & wife Karen, Franklin, NE; Angie Alberts & hus Tim, Lincoln, NE; Patty Reed & hus Troy, Franklin, NE; Stacie Brueggeman & hus Kevin, Kearney, NE; Great Grandchildren: Aaron & Kabrina Wescoat, Red Cloud, NE; Matthew & Scott Wescoat, Hastings, NE; Ansley & Trevin Alberts, Lincoln, NE; Tristin & Kirstin Brueggeman, Kearney, NE; Rebecca, Brenden, Corben, & Ethan Libich, Gothenburg, NE; Tiffany, Brook, & Faith Reed, Franklin, NE; Joel & Matthew Sweet, Franklin, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, parents, sister- Betty Spath, and 3 Brothers-Fred, Charles, and infant brother Wilson, Grandson- Randy Wescoat.

Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2008 with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Friday, October 24, 2008 at Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, NE. The family suggests memorials to American Heart Assoc., American Cancer Society, or American Diabetes Assoc.
