Laura Hill

Laura A. Hill, 99 years of age, of Franklin passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Ne. She was born on September 8, 1912 in Ashgrove, Nebraska to Thomas and Lydia (Grotfeldt) Folkers.

She graduated from Bloomington High School. Then was married to William Wayne Hill in Minden, Nebraska on October 15, 1936 and to this union two children were born.

Laura and family lived in Bloomington, Red Cloud and Franklin. She enjoyed cooking and square dancing with her husband.

She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church and was active in the Martha Friendship Ladies Circle.

Laura is survived by her son - Denny (Janice) Hill of Castle Rock, CO; daughter - Betty (Doug) Strickland of Votaw, TX; granddaughter - Laurie; 3 grandsons - Rick, Nathan, Todd; 3 great-granddaughters - Kris, Jess, Kimberly; great-grandson - Marcus; great-great grandson - Hunter; great-great granddaughter - Rosslyn and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hill on May 2, 2002; brothers, George Folkers and Walter Folkers, sisters, Mary Fritson, Wilhemena Chisholm, Louise Yelken and Luella Petersen; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Snow.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Franklin with Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin.

Cremation has taken place and a register book will be available to sign from 9am to 12pm Monday, January 30, 2012 at Hutchins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be left to the Martha Friendship Ladies Circle or Golden Living Center.
