Joy Pruner

March 15, 1925 — July 20, 2010

Joy Lucille Pruner was born March 15, 1925 in Cowles, Nebraska to David and Vera Law Johnson. She passed away peacefully on July 20, 2010 in Windsor, California at the age of 85.

She began teaching Kindergarden through the 8th grade in Webster County immediately after graduation from Cowles High School in 1943, attending Kearney State College during the summer time. In 1969 she moved to Franklin County and began teaching at District #9 in Macon. Joy's great loves were working with children and painting. She was known locally for painting wild life scenes on items such as saw blades and shovels.

She is survived by her daughter Marvel Gray and son-in-Law Phillip Gray of Windsor, California, grandchildren Damon and Jennifer Pruner of Gibbon Nebraska and 3 great grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah and Elanor all of Gibbon, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Pruner, children Roger, Russell and Charla Kay and grandson Dwayne Keimig.

Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Hutchins Funeral Home with Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Bladen, Nebraska. Visitation will be prior to services on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the National Diabetes Association or American Red Cross.
