John Greening

Christian Biography of John H. Greening

John H. Greening, the son of Harry Robert and Hazel Barbara (Anderson) Greening, was born on June 12th, 1927 on a farm 10 miles northwest of Bloomington, Nebraska. He passed away on June 3rd, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Alma, Nebraska at the age of 83 years 9 days prior to his 84th birthday.

John lived in the Bloomington area all of his life. He attended Pleasant View country school and Bloomington School. He also attended the Bloomington United Methodist Church.

John loved to spend his spare time in his gardens. He lovingly cared for all kinds of fruit trees, vegetables and many varieties of flowers. He also loved raising chickens, especially Bantam roosters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sisters; Mary Winz and husband Harold (Mike) of Holdrege, Nebraska and Harriet Frerichs of Minden, Nebraska and brother; Lloyd Greening and wife Donna of Franklin, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Visitation: Hutchins Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, June 7th from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, June 8th from 9:00 AM until the service.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Hutchins Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Nebraska.

Clergy: Rev. David Johnson

Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomington, Nebraska.
