Helena Goodrich

Helena Goodrich, age 95, passed away from this life on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Franklin, Nebraska. She was born October 18, 1913 in Macon, Nebraska to John T. and Matilda Charlotte Kleen Blank. She graduated from Franklin High School. She married Orival Shineman on August 2, 1936 in the Macon Methodist Church. To this union 5 children were born. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1957. She then married Harry Goodrich on March 1, 1959 in Franklin, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1992. She was a homemaker. She ws a member of Woman's Club, Franklin Museum, Historical Society, Riverview Extension Club, and the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Daughter: Myrna Duncan & husband Raymond, Riverton, NE; sons: Arlyn Shineman & wife Susan, Littleton, CO; Larry Shineman & wife Anne, Columbus, OH; Step Sons: Harry Goodrich, Jr & wife Bonnie, Oakland, NE; Don Goodrich & wife Elaine, Blue Hill, NE; Brother: Clarence Blank & wife Vera, Franklin, NE; Grandchildren: 16
Numerous: Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, Sisters: Edna Blank, Marie Rademacher, Rosena Folkers, Helen Braams; Brothers: Thomas and Herman Blank; Children: Muriel and Richard Shineman; Grandsons: Travis Goodrich and Marshall Cline.

Funeral serivices will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the United Methodist Church, Franklin, Nebraska, with Rev. Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2009 at Hutchins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska. The family suggests memorials to Franklin Historical Society or the United Methodist Church.
