Helen Marie Hunt, the daughter of Glenn and Bertha (Hecht) Avery was born March 5, 1923 at Sumner Township in Phillips County, Kansas. She passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Keenes Home in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 17 days. Helen attended Inavale School at Sumner Township in Phillips County, Kansas. Helen was united in marriage to Lester Hunt on October 7, 1940 at Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Helen enjoyed her cats, gardening, flowers, and rides in the country; she also enjoyed making crafts and ceramics at Mt. Carmel. She was a member of the Franklin Evangelical Free Church in Franklin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Karen Marquez, Lonnie (Connie) Hunt; Larry (Carol) Hunt; and Cathy (Cris) Hall; a sister, Doris Hunt; a brother, Phillip Avery; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Helen was welcomed into heaven by her parents Glenn and Bertha Avery; husband Lester Hunt; infant son, Bobby Hunt; and her brother Marvin Avery and his wife Alma.

Funeral Services will be Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Franklin Evangelical Free Church in Franklin with Pastor Bill Stearns officiating. Interment will follow at the Naponee Cemetery in Naponee, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 1 until 8 PM with the family present from 6 until 8 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Franklin. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Hutchins Funeral Home is serving the family.
