Geraldine (Geri) "Sis" James

Geraldine Marie James passed from this life on Saturday, February 25^th, 2023 at the age of 93 years in Franklin, Nebraska. She was born in Gillette, Wyoming on November 22, 1929 to Gerald and Mabel Marie (Thompson) James.

Geri married Eldon Tholson in June of 1948 and had three children: James, Craig and Christine. She was blessed to have grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren who all knew her as Grandma Geri. She was loved by all of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; Dick James, Bob James and Alma Smith. She is survived by her brothers Ken James (Doris), Tom James (Linda) and their families, and sister-in-law Myra James. Geri is also survived by her children: James Tholson (Lisa), Craig Tholson, Christine Brumbaugh and their families; many other relatives and friends.

Geri was the first born child and was known affectionately as “Sis” to all of her family. When her parents moved their family to Nebraska in 1950, Sis stayed behind in Gillette, Wyoming where she and Eldon raised their family.

Numerous events brought her to different locations and relationships throughout her life. Through it all, she always maintained her faith in God and expressed her love to all. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 11^th, 2023 at Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska with Bishop Joshua Choate officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bloomington, Nebraska. Visitation with family present will be 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, March 10^th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
