Edna Hundt

Edna J. Schafer Hundt was born February 18, 1919 in Upland, Nebraska to Hye and Fannie Wessels Schafer. She passed away from this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital at the age of 89. She attended Schoopl District 46 South of Upland for four years and District 39 for four years. She was confirmed at the Macon Methodist Church in 1933. She moved north of Riverton, NE in 1934. She later joined the Lutheran Church at Campbell, NE. She married Herold Hundt on August 28, 1938 at the Lutheran Church South of Campbell, by Pastor Tieman. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2006. To this union was born their son Robert Lee Paul Hundt. She later transferred to Grace Lutheran Church in Franklin, NE. They lived in Riverton, NE area for 55 years moving to Franklin in 1993. She was a housewife, nurses aide at Inavale, Campbell, and Franklin nursing homes for 25 years. She also worked at the Senior Center and was a Green Thumb worker at Mid Nebraska Community Action of Franklin. Edna is survived by her son Robert Hundt and wife Wanda, Central City, NE; Grandchildren: Tamara Dirks and hus Alex, Sterling, NE; Robert J. Hundt and wife Jane, Hastings, NE; Great Grandchildren: Dion Hancock and wife Corie, McCook, NE; Rhett, Tristian, and Trace Dirks, Hastings, NE; Great Great Grandchildren: Talyn Cole Hancock, McCook, NE; Sister-in-law Marie Wasson, Greeley, CO; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Freda L'Heureux, brother Dick Schafer, two sister-in-laws, and three brother-in-laws. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, NE with Rev. Mike Stock officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, NE. Burial will be in Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, Nebraska. The family suggests memorials to Donor's Choice.
