Edna Dorn

June 2, 1925 — June 7, 2017

Edna Margaret (Sanger) Dorn was born June 2, 1925, on a farm east of Franklin on Lovely Creek, to Henry J. and Mary M. (Dallmann) Sanger. She went to her heavenly home on June 7, 2017, from the Franklin County Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Nebraska. She was 92 years and 4 days old.

Edna was baptized on April 4, 1926, at the Franklin Congregational Church, by Pastor Norman G. Palmer. At an early age she moved with her family west of Macon, Nebraska. Edna was confirmed on August 28, 1928, into the Macon Methodist Church, by Pastor Paul E. Martin. Edna graduated from Hildreth High School, with the class of 1945. She then attended Kearney State College and taught rural schools for three years.

Edna was united in marriage to Melvin John Dorn, on July 15, 1945, at Macon United Methodist Church, by Reverend Lemont Carlson. They transfer their church membership in 1977 to First United Methodist Church, Franklin, Nebraska. They moved into franklin in 1988.
Edna was a hard worker, and a wonderful partner at Melvin's side on the farm. She also worked at the Franklin County Memorial Hospital, for 28 years. She also worked at Recollections and at the Senior Center, both in Franklin.

Edna and Melvin enjoyed work, but they could square dance and enjoyed the traveling to dances. She took the time to make treats for the nursing home, and for the friends who she played cards. Yes, Edna enjoyed her cards. If she was not at home playing cards, she was playing cards at someone else's home.
