Delmer Bradley

Delmer "Bus" Bradley of Naponee, Nebraska, son of William and Kate (Cameron) Bradley was born on November 7, 1927, on a farm near Naponee, in Phillips County, Kansas. He passed away on May 31, 2016, at the Harlan County Health System Hospital, Alma, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years and 5 months.

Bus went to Phillips County School thru the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Leath L. Nyberg, and to this union two daughters were born - Victoria and Jean. For many years, Bus lived south of Naponee, across the county line, where he helped farm with his brother, Wayne. He and Leath L. moved into Naponee in 1956.

He enjoyed playing cards, Root beer floats, "SWEETS", his toddies, and fishing.

Delmer was baptized on August 23, 2009 at the Naponee Wesleyan Church.

Bus was preceded in death by his parents, his wife - Leath L., four brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by daughters - Vicki and husband Wayne Lutjeharms of Alma, Nebraska, Jean and husband Dan Illian of Lincoln, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister - Dorothy Zillinger of Logan, Kansas: sister-in-law - Kate Donovan of Stanbury, Missouri; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service for Delmer E. "Bus" Bradley, will be (was) at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Naponee Cemetery, Naponee, Nebraska, with Pastor Scott Randall officiating. Casket bearers will be (were) grandchildren - Traci Eckles, Mark and wife, Julie Lutjeharms, Cassie Taggart, Kelli and husband, Mick Colón, and Nick and wife, Melissa Illian. Honorary casket bearers will be (were) great-grandchildren - Jalyn Colón, Abby Lutjeharms, Luke Eckles, Kyndal Colón, Hayley Lutjeharms, Maddux Eckles, Myla Illian, Kai Illian, and Kadyn Taggert. Military honors will be (were) presented by Hicks American Legion Post No. 364, Naponee, Nebraska, and the Army National Guard, Honor Guard. Inurnment followed in the cemetery. Music at the lunch will be (was) provided by Luke Eckles, pianist. The family suggests memorials to the family. Charities will be named at a later date. Online condolences can be left at www.hutchinsfh.com. Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska, was in charge of service arrangements.
