Charles Marick

June 18, 1933 — December 22, 2008

Charles "Chuck" Marick, age 75, of Franklin, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Bethany Home in Minden, NE. He was born June 18, 1933 at Riverton, Nebraska to Floyd and Mina (Meline) Marick. He grew up in the Franklin area. Most of his life he worked construction. He worked for several contractors Gilberts of Delaware-Missouri Valley, JL Healy, Biba Engineering, and Peter Keiweit. He enjoyed his work, family, friends and his dogs Tex and Patch which were the center of his life and went with him everywhere. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and his gun collection. He was a proud Charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie NO. 3601 Pine Ridge, Crawford, NE. He liked to talk about the Book of Revelations. He was honored by receiving many safety awards for his work in Construction. He hauled the last load of dirt for the Harlan County Dam.

He leaves to honor and celebrate his life his wife Genevieve Marick, daughters Linda, Deborah, Julie, and Nancy; 5 grandchildren- Kathryn, Debra, Samantha, Katie, and Jacob; 1 great granddaughter; a brother Calvin Gene and wife Ida Marick; and a sister Betty McNair and husband Gene of Holstein, NE, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Hutchins Funeral Home with Rev. Baron and Nancy Cole officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 6PM Friday, December 26, 2008 at Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Bethany Home Resident Council Bus Fund.
