Alice Anderson

August 13, 1928 — November 11, 2013

Alice Eileen Anderson, of Golden Living Center, Franklin, Nebraska, passed way Monday, November 11, 2013, at the age of 85 years. Alice, daughter of Earl Edwin and Edna Pearl (Dean) Rubendall was born August 13, 1928, at Oberlin, Kansas.

In Alice's young years the family moved to a farm near Hoxie, Kansas, where they endured the dust storms of the 1930's. Following this Earl purchased a grocery store in Norcatur, Kansas, where Alice and her siblings helped. Later the family went back to farming where everyone still helped. Alice graduated school with the Norcatur High School class of 1947.

Alice married Glen Anderson on March 28, 1948, at Norcatur, Kansas. The newlyweds moved to Pasadena, California, where Glen was employed in the movie industry. Alice enjoyed their time there meeting some of the "stars" of the era. That was a long way from home so Glen and Alice moved to Colorado. Alice loved Colorado and lived there until her move to Franklin in 2006. While living in Colorado, Alice was a very active and willing volunteer at her church, Kiowa Creek Community Church in Kiowa, Colorado. Alice served as a Deacon in the church. She was also the director of the food bank there for 18 years. She was a Sunday school teacher and an all-around helper. In 2005, Alice was awarded the Everyday Hero Award given out by Denver's Channel 7 news. It was given to her for all her work at the church and the food bank.

Another joy in Alice's life was her family, whether close or far away, she loved to keep in touch with everyone. She kept herself busy with some craftwork especially those great sock monkeys. Alice was always smiling and kept everyone around her on their toes. She taught all those she knew how to love, and love big. She will be greatly missed and always remembered as the wonderful lady that she was.

Alice is survived by her grandson, Christopher and wife, Londyn of Ocean Shore, Washington; one great-grandson, Tucker Dean and great-granddaughter, Taylen Adalee. She is also survived by one brother, John and wife, Mary Rubendall of Franklin, Nebraska; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, and mother; husband, Glen Anderson; two brothers - Roy Edwin and Troy Earl; sister, Evelyn Maxine; and three sons - Richard Glen, Robert Dean, and Ronald Lynn.
